So as a follow up to my previous post I received a waterproof digital camera for Mothers day, so we are back in business. In perfect time too, because this summer I have fourteeners to conquer, races to run, and family camp outs planned, and I want to be able to take lots of pictures.
We've been having a lot of rain lately which is really nice, but also makes it a little hard to be very motivated to go out and enjoy the outdoors. Saturday we braved the rain and cold and went to Rampart Reservoir with my brother Preston and his family to take the Red Pepper (the name of our red canoe) out for its first run of the season...... As a little side note the night before we were talking to Aly about taking the red pepper out on the lake and she said she needed to go check on it I assumed she was going to go look at the boat in the garage so was a little surprised when I turned around to find her holding a red bell pepper from the fridge and advising me that it was ready for our day out. Funny kid.... anyway.... When we arrived at the reservoir it was raining pretty hard , but we put up our canopy, had lunch and waited it out and the girls were able to get in a nice ride on the Red Pepper. So thanks Preston and Shanda for being good sports and sticking it out with us.
Talia, Aly and Brooklyn all having fun checking things out after our picnic
Preston, Talia, Foote and Brooklyn going for a ride in the canoe
Too funny; Brooklyn was so mad that the canoe ride was over that she refused to get out. She even grabbed the paddle and attempted to paddle the boat herself. We had to deal with a nice long two year old temper tantrum trying to get her out of the boat.
